201 253 01 Finish: Multi-colored Shown in Multi-color Finish Constructed from a wide array of materials while exhibiting eye-catching sculptural shapes, these wall clocks are a vast departure from the ordinary and prosaic wall clock. Featuring the bold and impressive modern design of George Nelson, these clocks ascended into popularity in the 1950s and still resonate with many people who are looking for an alternative from the mundane timekeepers. With their meticulous attention to detail in the pursuit of true-to-original form, The Vitra Design Museum is presenting a re-edition of the Sunburst Wall Clock. This colorful and compelling wall clock will illuminate any room in your home. Considered by many to be one of the founding fathers of American Modernism, George Nelson produced some of the twentieth century's most highly regarded pieces of industrial furniture. After receiving bachelor's degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from Yale in 1931, Nelson lived in Rome and traveled throughout Europe where he met many of the modernist pioneers. In the 1940s he collaborated with many distinguished designers such as Ray and Charles Eames, Harry Bertoia, Richard Schultz, Donald Knorr and Isamu Noguchi. Along with his engaging wall clocks, some of his other best known designs are his Marshmallow sofa and the coconut chair. Boasting their timeless aesthetics and historical relevance, the re-editions of these classic wall clocks are featured in the Vitra Design Museum.
